News Flash! 2014 is coming to an end, and the yearly tide of “best Xs of 2014” lists are coming out and that always makes me feel like I’ve missed out on a lot of what was going out throughout the year. As a person who doesn’t closely follow any of the industries I’m actually interested in (music, film, skateboarding, technology) the end of the year is a time when I desperately try to catch up with all the news and media that I’ve missed out on throughout the year. Starting with roughly the second week of December I begin to frantically download, plan to consume, and then forget to consume stupendous amounts of media. As of now there are over 20 unlisted albums, 26 unwatched movies, and many, many books on my “best of 2014 list” that I just won’t have time to get to before the end of the year.
